ABSTRACTS

• Abstracts will be sent over the Internet. The participants will fill in the abstract form that can be accessed on the website of the congress ( www.kbb2010.org). Abstracts sent via post or facsimile shall not be taken into consideration.
• The abstracts shall be prepared in the form of poster presentation and/or oral presentation.
• The abstracts shall be prepared in English. The title of the paper shall be comprised of utmost 10 words and be explanatory.
• The name, surname and institution of the individuals who have participated in the study shall be stated.
• The name, surname and title (if any) of the individual who will present the abstracts  shall be written in bold. The abstracts shall be comprised of four sections: a) objective, b) materials and method, c) results (numerical data and/or statistical data) and d) conclusion.
• The abstracts shall not be more than 250 words.
• The posters shall be prepared in the width of 70 cm and height of 90 cm, and in the font size that can be readable from 1 m.
• A hall or foyer shall be allocated for the posters during the Congress, and the posters shall be exhibited between 09.00 and 19.00 hours.
• For safety reasons you are recommended to print out and keep the abstracts.
• Oral presentations shall be presented according to the schedule of the Congress. The participants, who will make oral presentations, should submit their presentations to the slide control room at least one day before their presentations. The abstracts shall be prepared by Office 2000 and/or superior software. The halls shall be furnished with any kind of technical equipment.
• The applications shall be evaluated by the scientific committee of the Congress and the results shall be notified to the applicants.
• The submission deadline for the abstracts is March 08, 2010.  The participants, who will make presentations in the Congress, should be registered until March 15, 2010. Otherwise their abstracts shall not be taken into consideration. The abstracts sent after the deadline shall not be taken into consideration.
• The full text of the accepted abstracts that have been written in line with the writing rules of the Journal of the Turkish Society of Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery and that have been submitted to the scientific committee of the Congress during the congress shall be evaluated for publication in the same Journal.

ABSTRACTS  AWARDS

The abstracts to be presented in the Congress shall be followed, discussed and scored by a crowded evaluation committee comprised of academicians of the Faculties in Ankara and voluntary guest academicians of different Faculties.  Following the evaluation process the selected oral and poster presentations shall be awarded with different prizes.

• One person will be awarded with the participation to the Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery. Travel, accommodation and registration fees are included.
• One person will be awarded with the participation to the European Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery Meeting. Travel, accommodation and registration fees are included.
• Four persons will be awarded with the participation to the National Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery Congress or Course. Travel, accommodation and registration fees are included.
• Four persons will be awarded with the participation to the forthcoming Congress of the Turkish Society of Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery. Travel, accommodation and registration fees are included.
• One person will be awarded with the Storz prize.
• Otorhinolaryngology Scientific Book and Journal subscriptions.
